Monday to Friday at various times 08:00 – 17:30 (19:45 if evening opening) and Saturdays 09:00 – 10:00.

Routine Appointments

For routine appointments please ask for an appointment with the doctor you usually see. This helps to provide continuity of care.

You can also make a certain appointment on line via the link at the top of this page. Please ask at reception for information about how to gain access to this service.

Non-urgent advice: Emergency Surgeries

These surgeries are for patients with problems that cannot wait for the next available appointment with any doctor. Please request an appointment online using the online service page on the website or telephone the surgery and you will be given a time. You will be seen by the doctor on duty for that day. Please do not abuse this service by asking the doctor to deal with routine problems. Urgent appointments are shorter than routine appointments and the doctor may not have time to deal with more than the urgent problem.

Making Appointments with Receptionists

When patients request an appointment at the surgery the reception staff will be asking patients if they are happy to tell them the reason for the appointment.

Reception staff have been trained to ask certain questions in order to ensure that you receive:

  • the most appropriate medical care,
  • from the most appropriate health professional,
  • at the most appropriate time.

Reception staff, like all members of the Practice team, are bound by confidentiality rules and any information given by you is treated with strict confidentiality.

  • Receptionists will ask for a brief description of your problem
  • You can ask to speak to a receptionist in private away from reception.
  • If you feel an issue is very private and do not wish to say what this is then this will always be respected.

Home Visits

If you need a doctor and it is impossible for you to attend the surgery, a home visit may be appropriate. Please phone the surgery before 10.00am if possible ensuring that:

  • a responsible person makes the request
  • you give full details of the patient (name, address, phone number)
  • some idea of the problem (this helps us to prioritise urgent cases)
  • directions if necessary.
  • a member of the practice may call you back to triage your request

If the problem is URGENT, please tell the receptionist.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Unfortunately it is NOT possible to notify the Practice by telephone on a Saturday morning if you are unable to attend a Saturday morning appointment.

Non-urgent advice: Late For Your Appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.


If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to inform the receptionist that you consent to this service.
